My teacher Thich Nhat Hanh as a guest of Oprah Winfrey. Thay, as he is called by his students, seems to enjoy the event, and of course he is calm and mindful as ever. He talks about his meetings with Martin Luther King who supported him in his efforts to stop the war in Vietnam. And he talks about deep listening, suffering, correcting wrong perceptions, and living in the here and now.
"When you are angry you are not lucid", he says. And: "In the ash of suffering a phoenix is born."
